hi, guys!
i just want to know your logical insight about how long should a thread be locked?
a day?
2 days?
3 days?
or more? let's say a week or more?
My thread got locked "on Oct 23, 2009, 7:56pm" for "ignoring the 1 bump per day rule".
After 3 days (72hours), I PMd the person responsible for locking my thread and message him about it and asking for his advice.
the message was sent:
« Message sent on Oct 26, 2009, 9:33pm »
I've waited for 24 hours and no response came eventhough he read the message (you'll know coz of the outbox function).
So, I've decided to message him again " on Oct 27, 2009, 9:28pm " and asked him kindly to inform me about my thread's status. Again, the same thing happened. No response, eventhough the message was read.
And so, I PMd him once more for the 3rd time "on Oct 29, 2009, 12:07am", asking him on how my thread will be unlocked. I've waited til the following day and AGAIN NO RESPONSE though the message was read.
I've asked another MOD to help me out on this and he suggested that i should really talk to the guy who is responsible for locking the thread.
Which i did.
And so, for the 4th time, I PMd him "on Nov 1, 2009, 6:19pm", asking him to kindly let me know the progress of my locked thread. But to no avail, until now, Nov.03, 9:00am, no response came from him.
As for the summary:
Thread Locked : on Oct 23, 2009, 7:56pm
Violation : ignoring the 1 bump per day rule
Sanction : thread will be locked until further notice
1st PM: Oct 26, 2009, 9:33pm *
2nd PM: Oct 27, 2009, 9:28pm *
3rd PM: Oct 29, 2009, 12:07am *
4th PM: Nov 1, 2009, 6:19pm *
* the msg was read yet no response
I simply have told you, guys what transpired since Oct. 23 until now, Nov.03.
If my calculations were right, today will be the 11th day of being locked up.
I didn't put any subjective comments though many people (collectors from different forums and friends) have told me that what is happening is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL already.
Any pieces of good advice or helpful suggestions are welcome.
Thanks and God Bless! |

After my 4th PM, i msgd him once again.
Thus, my 5th, Nov.03, 2009, 3:03pm.
But again, no response.
Here's a carbon copy (CC) of my msg.
I am basically putting this to show the readers that I still uphold a certain respect for him as a moderator and a human being.

Hi optimus.
May I know the moderator you are referring to?
The Mod Squad are handled by 2-3 different persons. It may be that the moderator who read your PM, is different from the one who locked your thread. We cannot bypass any action done by another moderator so you really have to wait till the moderator unlocks it.
Moderators are not always online and have their daily lives to live to. Please note that PTK moderators are just collector volunteers, so please bear with us.
Btw, all of this will not happen if we just follow the rules and guidelines. Honestly I've seen you violating the bumping rule several times.
Anyways, kindly indicate the locked thread so I can unlock it.
Thanks |

As posted in the Forum's General Rules and Guidelines:
LOCKED/DELETED THREADS
It is most often obvious why a thread was deleted or locked and doesn't usually need further clarification.
There are a few things to remember NOT to do when you have a question about a deleted/locked thread:
* Do NOT post a new thread to ask why your thread was locked/deleted. This will just be considered spam and will be locked or deleted.
* Do not send a flame PM to moderators. This will get you ignored or worse. Moderators are human too, and are more willing to work with people who can keep their cool.
* Do not repost your thread until you get a moderator's OK.
Reposting your thread without finding out why it was deleted may land you in hot water. Threads are deleted for a reason and until you discuss it with a moderator, it should not be reposted. |
